Ashlee began her homeschool journey 10 years ago when she was faced with the decision to homeschool or send her son to public school while her husband was working long hours as a Submarine Officer. Ultimately, the Lord made it clear that the best option to keep family time a priority was to homeschool.  The rest is history.  She and her kids love homeschooling, even through the challenging and chaotic moments. She has nine kids, ranging from nursery to high school.  Most days you will find her on her homestead with sourdough bread baking in the oven, yarn in her hands, worship music playing, kids running amuck, and a smile on her face

Wife, mother, Kingdom Seeker. Originally from Southern California, Le Niza and her husband moved to Maryland fresh out of college in September of 2008. While she had “big plans” to work for an NGO, God had even bigger plans for her. She welcomed her first daughter in 2009. Le Niza started her career as homemaker, small business owner and was designated “ jack-of-all-trades” supporting leadership at her home church in various ministries. She is a former public school mom of 6 years turned homeschool mom when most did in 2020. Having no Education background ,or desire to homeschool, it was a giant leap of faith but so very clear that this was where the Lord was leading. She found Naked Apple in 2021 after moving to Virginia. So delighted and relieved to have found a community after a challenging year adjusting to this new assignment, she couldn’t have asked for a better tribe. Although introverted, she is a lover of people and so excited to serve her tribe this coming school year.

Landon, a former Navy nuclear submarine engineer officer, spent the first fourteen years of his marriage to Ashlee working long hours and spending many months away from his family in service.  It was during these extended periods of separation that he developed a strong appreciation for the value of family and community.  He viewed homeschooling as a way to maximize time together with his family during his time ashore, and to provide a personalized education that instilled biblical values in his kids.  Now, Landon enjoys the opportunity to work alongside his wife at their co-op, pouring into childrens' education.  Whether he's setting up tables and chairs, running the audio-visual equipment during worship time, or teaching classes, he does whatever is necessary to ensure the smooth day-to-day operations at co-op. With his background in nuclear power and data center operations management, he has an eye for process improvement and resource management, unique skills that are invaluable to the co-op.  In addition to his dedication to education, Landon is also an accomplished woodworker, musician-vocalist, and an avid chess player.

Jamie is an adventure loving mom who can often be found outdoors spending time with her family. She is among the few that have lived in northern Virginia her entire life. She met her husband Christopher over 15 years ago, when he connected with the church that she had been raised in. Together, they have four amazing boys who keep them on their toes. While they never thought they would be a homeschooling family, God definitely had other plans and they are enjoying this season of their life. Homeschooling has been such a blessing to their family in many ways. Jamie has enjoyed meeting the many women who are on a similar journey and supporting each other along the way.

Ashley Bango, MS, BCBA-LBA is excited to be apart of the Naked Apple leadership in the role of Lead Teacher.  Ashley so enjoyed her first year homeschooling last year. God provided the community and fellowship her family needed through Naked Apple. She has 3 beautiful daughters, and is looking forward to the 2024-25 year.  Ashley has been teaching and supporting children with autism or special needs and their families for 20

years as a behavior analyst. Her hope is to support teachers and parents in the classrooms at co-op to laugh, learn, and thrive in their classes.

Ashley MacFarlane is now going into her 4th year as part of the Naked Apple Family. She is super excited to plan and organize exciting events for our coop. She is always up for an adventure and has a ( sometimes too much) full activity calendar and is looking forward to sharing her time with Naked Apple . Her passion is fellowship and community building. Ashley is the mother to twins Donny and Elizabeth who will be in 1st grade this year. Homeschooling was never even on the radar but God had plans and showed her the path to Naked Apple  and she hasn’t looked back . Prior to staying home with the children, Ashley was a an analyst for the Department of the Army for 12 years and has a BS in Mathematics from Roanoke College and a Masters in Engineering Management from ODU.
